Haiti In Crisis| Royal Caribbean to Bring Relief

Anyone who knows me knows that the one thing I love the most in the world is a good cruise vacation. Of the 5 cruises I’ve been on, 2 of them have been on the Royal Caribbean Line. Royal Caribbean own a private port in the northern coast of Haiti called Labadee. The 3,654-passenger Independence of the Seas will visit its port of call in Haiti today as scheduled — the first cruise ship to visit the Caribbean nation since Tuesday’s devastating earthquake. In addition to the thousands of pounds of food it has on the ship for its vacationers, Royal Caribbean associate vice president John Weis says the ships will also carry rice, dried beans, water, dried milk and a variety of other canned items to be distributed to the victims in the south in Port Au Prince.”This effort is going to be a marathon,” he says. This is great news as Aid is literally being held up at the airport due to the lack of ability to get it from the airport because of the small airport is not equipped to handle the amount of planes bringing aid.
