Tuesday Throwback| Spice Girls “Wannabe”

When The Notorious B.I.G died, his death marked a pivotal turn in the music industry. Gone were the days were gangsta rap and Hip-Hop ruled the airwaves, Pop music as we know it started to inch its way back through. The public was tired of the violence and unrest in the Hip-Hop community and sought its entertainment elsewhere. The week Biggie died, The Spice Girls topped the Billboard Hot 100 Charts at #1 with their debut single “Wannabe”. How’s that for non-violent, non-confrontational entertainment?…. although now that we think of it Scary was a little gangsta with her “zig a zay ahhh”‘s. Enjoy.
