2010 BET AWARDS| THE REVIEW

The 2010 BET AWARDS wrapped up a couple hours ago and I can definitely say this has been one of the better award shows that BET has put on. Something about the show, from the performances to the graphics just seemed more classy. The audience wasn’t acting a fool either. Here are a couple of our Highlights from the show.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Kanye opened the show with his latest single, “Power”, in a somewhat underwhelming performance. He took to the top of a faux mountain like a devilish Moses in red with a microphone stand that looked like a cane. However, he never came down the mountain and we couldn’t really see his face for most of the performance. Nonetheless, Kanye is Back!
- Usher took a break from “OMG” and performs his urban single “There Goes My Baby”. Again, could’ve been better but a welcome change from “OMG”
- Prince Payed Trey Songz COMPLETE AND UTTER SHADE when Trey Went into Purple Rain during his performance!
- Alicia Keys went ape shit and climbed up on her piano, totally forgetting that she’s kinda pregnant while playing “Adore” by Prince! Prince’s facial expression was also priceless when she did that.
*Sigh* Chris Brown Peformed a tribute to Michael Jackson in which he broke down during the last portion of the performance. Here’s the deal though: those tears were not for Michael. Those were some “Oh shit, I think they may like me again tears.” I’m not sold yet though…. *cues up Rihanna’s “G4L“*
THE LOWLIGHTS
-B.O.B performs “Airplanes” and pays complete shade to Hayley Williams by replacing her with Keyshia Cole. To top it off Keyshia looked and sounded a hot mess.
- Diddy -Dirty Money performed. Its not that their performances are bad, I just can’t understand how Dawn Richard went from 1/5 of a somewhat popular band on the path to even greater success, to a glorified background singer who performs the background dances Lady Gaga rejected from Laurie Ann Gibson.
- Nicki Minaj did her best Janet impression and lip-synced all three of her performances. Since when did rapper lip sync their performances? #WHERETHEYDOTHATAT?
