Janet Jackson fans are currently going wild waiting for the release of her single “Nothing” which was made for her latest feature film Why Did I Get Married Too. The song, which was co-written by Jackson and produced by former boyfriend and mega-producer Jermaine Durpi serves as a theme song of sorts for the movie. Lucky Fans who were able to score tickets to today’s taping of the Oprah Winfrey Show, which features Tyler Perry and Janet Jackson promoting the movie, were also treated to a private screening last night in Chicago at an AMC theater. Fans have compared the song to her 1993 hit “Again” and stated that they haven’t heard Janet sing in this manner for a long time! Contrary to reports from other blogs, we hear Janet will not be performing on Oprah’s show. We are eagerly waiting for the chance to hear this cut! Hook a Brother up!!!

Rodney Jerkins leaked a new Janet Jackson track today titled “Heartbeat Love”. If you recall, a different version of  this song  leaked before and the fans called it “Not My Love” The track is an upbeat dance tracks that features some Caribbean/Latin music influences. Check it out below. P.S Machel Montono, the infamous Soca artist is on the track as well!

I don’t love the track,but I like it. It’s interesting to see the direction that the album could possible go in by taking inspiration from reggae and Soca while also keeping a dance music vibe. I love the addition of Machel Montono, and I would love to see Janet work with him and the Soca queen herself Allison Hinds. Do keep in mind this is not a single. It’s basically a tester track. The response to this track will will help Janet and the label (which is said to be Interscope now) gauge the response from the audience they wish to attack as well as decide what direction they will continue to take the album in.

And the excitement continues! We now get to see a new poster featuring the principal cast of “Why Did I Get Married Too” ! The movie is set to premiere on April 2nd and were 98% sure that this will be Janet Jackson’s 4th film to debut at #1 at the Box Office. Not a Bad score!

While Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri may not be hitting the sheets anymore, they are still making music together! Janet took to Twitter today to tell fans that she and Jermaine have completed production on a song titled “Nothing” which will be placed in the upcoming film Why Did I Get Married Too, which Janet is also staring in! No word yet on whether the song is a ballad, mid-tempo or up-tempo joint, but Jermaine says she sounds amazing!

Lionel Richie and Quincy Jones revealed that Michael Jackson’s  original vocals and footage would be used in the song and video for “We Are The World 2010″. Michael will appear posthumously in a split-screen with sister and Pop Icon Janet Jackson joining him.“To have Michael’s presence singing his part is the best gift we could ever get,” Richie said. “His original image and him seeing his part.” Richie called the duet with Janet Jackson “magical”, and said “She’s singing with Mike,” Richie said. “It was all put together with fabulous choreography. It’s magical.” This is getting more and more interesting and the anticipation is killing us! Choreography? Is Janet going to dance? “We Are The World 2010″ will premiere on NBC February 12th, 2010 during the Winter Olympics

Rodney Jerkins revealed on his Ustream broadcast last night that he has the ok from Janet Jackson to leak a song and that he’s just waiting for the right time to do so. Sources have tentatively placed a new Janet album to be released in June and Janet is set to cover Wonderland magazine next month. If you remember Janet released a tester single in 2006 titled “Weekend” before the album was released, negative response from fans was said to have an effect on the direction she later took on 20 Y.O , so critical perception of the track will tell you how the new album may or may not sound.

Janet Jackson covers this months Gotham Magazine. Though the images are from  an old Mathew Rolston shoot for Blackbook Magazine, the interview is brand new.

On her New Year’s resolutions:
“I want to learn a language. I haven’t decided which, but it’s between French, Spanish and Italian. I also want to get closer to God.”

On her new album:
“It’s going to be a little different. The writing is about life experiences. There’s a part of me that’s craving escapism, which is a sense of wanting to keep on moving with my work but also of coming to terms with reality. So I think it will be upbeat and light.”

On her new book:
“I hope it’s inspiring for all ages. I’m talking about weight loss, confidence, self-esteem—especially in your youth. It’s not an autobiography, but there are little anecdotes that I give here and there from my childhood all the way to the present that I thought would be interesting and helpful to share.”

On what she loves about New York:
“Everything. I love the energy–the creative energy. I’ve been here for 12 years and I will be here for the rest of my life.”

Interesting. I knew Janet had an apartment in one of the Trump Buildings in NYC, but I was under the impression that she spent most of her time in L.A and Atlanta. Janet Jackson is also covering Wonderland’s February Cover with a brand new photoshoot. Check Base for that cover coming soon!

Mariah Carey continues her award streak this week with her win for Best Female R&B artist tonight at the People’s Choice Awards. In addition to this award, as well as the Palm Spring award that she won yesterday, Carey has been nominated for two NAACP awards, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture (Precious), and Outstanding Album (Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel). This now makes every song on the album a number one single on a Billboard Chart. “Make Me” also makes Janet’s 20th #1 single of the Billboard Hot Dance/Club Play Songs. Janet Jackson performed an extensive set, closing the Capital Fm’s Jingle Bell Ball in the U.K at the O2 Arena. She performed a medley of her biggest hits  including.

• All For You
• Again
• Escapade
• Make Me
• What Have You Done For Me Lately

Janet Jackson|  All for You + Make Me

Janet Jackson performed her 2001 hit “All For You” as well as “Make Me” from her latest compilation disc which is titled The Best in the U.K. Some have made comments about her supposed lip-syncing but Janet sounded great. If there’s anything the Jackson Family as a whole as brought to the art of pop performance, it is that your performance must be well rounded and you must give the illusion of perfection from the vocals, to the dance, to the performance. In my opinion, compared to Lady GaGa who performed her hit “Bad Romance”, Janet’s performance was definitely better. It’s an improvement because GaGa gave the better performance last month at the AMA’s. After 30+ years in the industry, Janet still has it!

Pop Icon Janet Jackson arrived at London’s Heathrow Airport a couple days early for her Promotional appearances in the U.K. Janet, along with Lady GaGa will be performing on the final episode of “The X-Factor,” and may also possible be acting as a mentor for the talent much like artists do here on American Idol. Jackson will also be performing at Sunday’s Jingle Bell Ball, a huge radio station concert much like Z100’s Jingle Bell Ball here in New York.  Janet’s latest single “Make Me” is currently number 6 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs working towards her 19th number one on that chart.  On a scale of 1 to 5  on the Crazy Beyonce scale of excitement, this comes in at 3! Can’t wait!

Janet Jackson gave a candid sit down interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts on Wednesday night talking candidly about her own career, the death of Michael Jackson and her new work. The interview was  great especially for people who are casual Janet Jackson fans and don’t know as much about her. It reiterated the fact that Janet Jackson is a legend in her own right who has stepped out of her brother’s shadow to become pop royalty herself. While the interview is still being uploaded by various bloggers, we do have a 45 second clip of Janet’s new video “Make Me”, the only newly recorded track featured on her new career retrospective collection Number Ones ,which features 33 of Janet’s global #1 hits. Janet Jackson will be opening up with Robin Robinson on an ABC special titled “In The Spotlight: Janet Jackson” that is set to air Nov. 18. This promo vid is special cause it features shots of Janet from the new video for her single “Make Me” that she has already completed filming. Number Ones, Janet’s second greatest hits collection will be released on November 17th and the singer is said to be performing on the American Music Awards alongside J.Lo and Whitney Houston, however these performances have yet to be confirmed. Janet Jackson Fans have alot to be happy about these days! For starters, Promo for Jackson’s second greatest hits offering, Number Ones, a two-disc 33 song set that includes various #1 hits from her 23 years at the top of the charts. Janet will be performing at the American Music Awards later this month and she will also be performing in the U.K at Capital FM’s Jingle Ball in December. In Two weeks, ABC will debut her first TV interview since the death of her brother. Janet Jackson will sit down and open up with ABC’s Robin Roberts on a special set to air on November 18. Finally, The video for the new single “Make Me” has been filmed and will be released shortly as well. If Janet’s VMA performance was any indication, we can’t wait to see her tear up the stage in these new performances!
