The Return of Sade| The R&B Legend talks about Solider of Love

Sade at The NYC listening party for Solider of Love

I only make records when I feel I have something to say. I’m not interested in releasing music just for the sake of selling something. Sade is not a brand.” Those are epic words from the R&B legend, words that perhaps some of our chart topping pop stars should take note of.  The band Sade, lead by front woman Sade Adu hasn’t released a new album since 2001’s Lover’s Rock. The group reconvened at Real World Studios near Sade’s home in the countryside of south west England. By summer 2009, the group had completed work on their 6th album Solider Of Love. As for the explanation for the long wait, Adu says “You can only grow as an artist as long as you allow yourself the time to grow as a person,we’re all parents, our lives have all moved on. I couldn’t have made ‘Soldier of Love’ any time before now, and though it’s been a long wait for the fans – and I am sorry about that – I’m incredibly proud of it.”  and we can’t wait to hear it! Soldier of Love hits stores February 9th!
