Multiple contestants who made it into the final 32 had already had some sort of success in the music or entertainment industries. Tarralyn Ramsey, was on the VH1 competition Born To Diva, Frenchie Davis was on American Idol and Cherie Oakle worked as background vocalist for Carrie Underwood and wrote a hit for Reba McEntire. But the mixture of those complete unknowns and those who already had a brush of success seemed a bit unfair. Take Javier for example: not only did he have an record deal with Capitol Records (and it seems a current production deal with SRP (the folks who found Rihanna in Barbados),) he released a project in 2003 and had a single chart at #95 on the Billboard charts. That being said, if folks didn’t care much for Javier then, are you going to care about him much more because he won The Voice?

It just seems a little unfair that we’re mixing contestants who already had a chance in spotlight and failed, with contestants who never had a chance at all. In fact, there should just be another show for folks like Javier, as opposed to mixing them with complete amateurs.

Chris Brown performed on Dancing With The Stars last night, treating viewers to energic performances of his single “Yeah 3X” and a medley of his classic “Forever” and the new joint “Beautiful People”. Peep the performances below!

Gotta hand it to Mr. Brown. His personality leaves much to be desired but he’s a dynamic entertainer.

The Recording Academy must be jumping for joy at this moment. Not only did they put on one of the better Grammy Awards in recent years, America actually tuned in! According to preliminary figures from Nielsen, The 53rd annual Grammy Awards drew in  26.6 million viewers for this years telecast, 600,000+ more viewers than last year and the highest number of viewers the broadcast has received in over 10 years.

No doubt the highly anticipated performance from Lady Gaga helped to draw in those numbers: everyone was concerned with what she was gonna wear and what antics she was going to pull off on the stage, though it was surprisingly tame. Also Bieber fans probably watched in droves waiting for his performance as well as whether he would win the coveted Best New Artist Grammy.

In my opinion, Diddy needs to give it up; either stick to producing, make another band, or take a very long break. He’s just been stifling the talent of Dawn Richards who’s stuck in the corner sharing the stage with Kaleena Harper doing shimmy shakes and singing two notes, but I digress and will continue to just sigh. Take a look at the performances and tell us what you think.

Justin Says: Sorry to hijack your post Ron, But I totally agree. The fact is Diddy rapping skills haven’t gotten any better and at some points its just painful to watch. Filthy Coupons Dirty Money would actually be a semi-dope group if they replaced Diddy with a great female singer, either that or Dawn needs to go solo PRONTO!

Katy Perry performed her hit single, “Firework,” which is number 2 on the Billboard chart at last night’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Perry is one of the few artists that I appreciate due to the fact that she may not have the most amazing voice live sometimes, BUT she still tries to pull out a good performance and doesn’t resort to lip-syncing like other singers. This performance of “Firework” was one of the best I’ve heard from her and she definitely worked it out and hit all of her notes. The audience and models also seemed to have a lot of fun with her performance. Take a look below and tell us what you think!

Everything about my musical taste tells me that I should hate this song, yet I frequently find myself humming the melody line to the lyrics “My Girl, My Girl She Loves Me”. As for the performance, while vocally the boys aren’t all the way there yet, there’s something to be said for these boys having more stage presence than some of their more successful and older counterparts. I don’t know about you, but I’m not counting Mindless Behavior out just yet…
