Still working on her third solo album, Kelly Rowland hit the studio this weekend in Atlanta with Jermaine Dupri. According to Dupri, Rowland asked him to give her “the next song of the decade,”  Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together” which Billboard named the song of the decade, which he produced and co-wrote. Let’s hope she gets it, though J.D’s magic doesn’t work for all ( i.e Discipline, 20 Y.O).

As we previously reported, Janet Jackson is the new face of luxury fur company BlackGama. Under their “What Becomes a Legend Most” campaign, Janet is poised on top of the Planet Hollywood Building in luxury fur in the heart of Times Sqaure. Go JANET! Still waiting on a new album though….

Fans of Tyler Perry‘s work thought they would have to wait til 2011 to see the  highly anticipated  For Colored Girls Who Committed Suicide When The Rainbow Is Not Enough, but the film — starring Thandie Newton, Whoopi Goldberg, Kerry Washington, Phylicia Rashad, and Janet Jackson — has now been moved from January 2011 release to  November 5, which makes the film eligible for Oscar contention. Don’t be surprised if you see Janet Jackson get two nods this upcoming season! Possibly one for Best Orginal Song for “Nothing” from Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too?, and we may be pushing it, but maybe one for Best Supporting Actress? We’re rooting for you girl! Get that Oscar!

Rap-Up has learned some exclusive new details about Mariah Carey‘s upcoming holiday album. Check it out below.

Rap-Up.com has exclusively learned that Mimi’s upcoming holiday project will be called Merry Christmas II You. The II represents the follow-up to 1994′s multi-platinum Merry Christmas album, which spawned the now-classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” The new offering is scheduled for a November 2 release and will include original material as well as covers of holiday classics. Though the title is quite uninspired, hopefully the music will be great. I hope Mariah covers songs that she didn’t do last time around such as more holiday classics like Donny Hathaway’s “This Christmas”, “Angels We Have Heard on High” and “The Christmas Song.”  The album is set to be released on November 2nd and will feature production from Jermaine Dupri, Randy Jackson and Bryan Michael- Cox. Carey will also promote the album through a series of HSN commercials will be push the cd and a combined DVD package.

H&M’s celebrated guest designer collaborations have included everyone from Madonna to Roberto Cavali to Viktor & Rolf. Well  now it looks like we may be in for a treat when H&M teams up with Lanvin Alber Elbaz. How awesome is that? The great part about H&M design collaborations is that we all admire some of these luxury labels from afar but can’t afford them, so to bring their head designer in to create pieces that carry the full style of Lanvin but at a fraction of the price is totally awesome! H&M has launched a viral campaign featuring stereotypical fashion designer types sitting at a table in black and white. The voice is that of Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz but is digitally altered to suit each characters gender. Check out one of them below.

B.O.B hooked up with MTV’s unplugged series and performed 5 of his songs with special guests in NYC.  The rapper, whose debut cd has already spawned 3 Top 10 hits including the #1 single “Nothin’ On You”, brought out some special guests to help him out. The ever so smooth Robin Thicke took the place of Bruno Mars for “Nothin’ on You” and his falsetto was buttery smooth and ridiculously on point. Other guests include Melanie Fiona on “Airplanes” and  Janelle Monae on “The Kids”.  With unplugged B.O.B shows that he’s not a simple pop-rapper, he has lyrical depth and is a dynamic musician.  Check out all the videos below!

The boy band field has been dry for awhile and whenever there’s an opening in this industry, someone smart attempts to fill it. Enter producer Walter Millsap ( Brandy’s “Who is She 2 U”, Alicia Key’s “Heartburn” ) and choreographer Keisha Gamble, who helped discover B2K. Together they put together Prodigy, Roc Royal, Ray Ray, and Princeton, who are collectively known as Mindless Behavior. “  The band is slowly gaining a following and even garnering co-signs from industry heavyweights like Sean “Diddy” Combs.
